New Star Wars: The Last Jedi Promo Contains Additional Dialogue And Shots

It's been one heck of a busy week for the Star Wars faithful, and it looks like Lucasfilm intends on continuing that momentum as we head into the weekend. That's because they've now released a new TV spot for The Last Jedi, and though it hasn't made its way online just yet, we've got a recording of it for you up above. We suggest you check it out, too, as there's some additional dialogue and even a few new shots here that didn't make it into the recent trailer.

It’s been one heck of a busy week for the Star Wars faithful, and it looks like Lucasfilm intends on continuing that momentum as we head into the weekend. That’s because they’ve now released a new TV spot for The Last Jedi, and though it hasn’t made its way online just yet, we’ve got a recording of it for you up above. Admittedly, it’s not much, but the new line comes right at the start from Luke, as he asks Rey, “why are you here?” The extra shots, meanwhile, seem to be of BB-8 in what appears to be Poe’s X-Wing and what looks to be an extra glimpse of Finn during his fight with Phasma. Again, none of this will stop the presses, but for those who are after anything and everything from that galaxy far, far away, it’s worth a look.

Besides, if nothing else, this promo is a sure sign that the floodgates are truly about to open as far as marketing material goes. With roughly two months left until Episode VIII blasts into theatres, it looks as if the studio is ready to showcase the film in all its glory ahead of release, and that means you can expect a deluge of TV spots, photos and more to hit the web over the coming weeks. In other words, it’s a good time to be a fan.

Said to balance the “familiar with the unfamiliar” and lay down a new series of rules for this most precious of cinematic universes, Star Wars: The Last Jedi will be with us on December 15th. It’ll be followed in relatively quick succession by Ron Howard’s Han Solo spinoff, before J.J. Abrams brings the curtain down on Disney’s rebooted trilogy with the release of Episode IX on December 20th, 2019, placing it right alongside Warner’s Wonder Woman 2.
