First Look At Star Wars: The Rise Of Skywalker’s Sith Troopers Revealed

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker is set to not only conclude Disney's popular sequel trilogy, but also the epic 'Skywalker Saga'. Within the films' chronology, it means the storyline began in The Phantom Menace will finally, finally reach its conclusion. So far signs are positive: the first trailer looked great and pretty much everything we've heard to date makes the film sound pretty special. With the San Diego Comic-Con about to begin in a week, many fans could be forgiven for assuming that we'll get a fresh look at the movie. Sadly, LucasFilm and Disney has confirmed there won't be a The Rise of Skywalker panel. But don't worry, all hope isn't lost as they've revealed a new character whose merchandise will be exclusively available at Comic-Con.

With San Diego Comic-Con about to begin in a week, many fans could be forgiven for assuming that we’ll get a fresh look at the flick very soon. Sadly, however, Lucasfilm and Disney have confirmed there won’t be a Rise of Skywalker panel. But don’t worry, all hope isn’t lost yet as they’ve revealed a new character whose merchandise will be exclusively available at the event.

The new character’s called the Sith Trooper and get this: it’s a stormtrooper…that’s red. Can you possibly contain your excitement? What self-respecting Star Wars fan doesn’t love stormtroopers? It’ll no doubt be the star attraction in a new exhibition of armor from the franchise and I bet it’ll look great alongside the classic white, black and chrome variants we’ve seen over the saga.

Lucasfilm archivist Madlyn Burkert is producing the Comic-Con exhibition and explained why we should all be excited to see a red stormtrooper:

“It has some really unique aesthetics to it. And it has some subtle ties to previous stormtrooper designs, which I think fans will enjoy discovering.”

If this thing is really floating your boat, then Lucasfilm have you covered. You can buy a Black Series figurine for $32, an exclusive Funko Pop model, a T-shirt and no doubt many more items designed to empty the wallet of dedicated Star Wars fans.

I’ve long admired the boundless creativity of the franchise and I think we can all agree that they’ve knocked this design out of the park. A red stormtrooper? Seriously, how do they come up with this stuff?
