Now that Marvel has finished releasing Captain Marvel and Avengers: Endgame, this leaves Disney with one last big blockbuster to dominate the box office for 2019, Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. The film, set to hit theaters in December, will be the final installment in the Sequel Trilogy that was started in 2015 with The Force Awakens. However, we haven’t seen much in the way of footage from it since the first teaser was released back in April.
Now, however, thanks to the folks over at Trailer Track, we may have a possible release date for when the next preview for The Rise of Skywalker will be with us. When a fan asked the website’s Twitter account about it, Trailer Track predicted that we could see the next (and possibly last) trailer to the upcoming sequel in October. The logic behind this guess is based on the release dates for the promos for both The Force Awakens and The Last Jedi, as each of them were dropped in October (the 19th and the 9th) of their respective years of release.
Ever since we got that first trailer, there’s been a lot of speculation as to what will happen in the next installment in the Star Wars franchise. Popular ideas and fan theories include how Kylo Ren was lying about who Rey’s parents were after they fought in The Last Jedi and, of course, how Emperor Palpatine will return in the upcoming pic.
Frankly, we don’t imagine this next preview shedding too much light on any of that stuff, but the answers we seek will no doubt come our way soon enough, as Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker blasts into theaters on December 20th and will hopefully cap off what’s been a huge year for Disney in grand fashion.
