So much attention has been paid to Luke’s Jedi Academy, which was reduced to flames at the hands of Ben Solo, that few have stopped to ask the question: what about Rey’s premonition that involved the Knights of Ren?

As you’ll no doubt recall, that super-secret unit was originally teased in the first full trailer for The Force Awakens, in which the Knights of Ren stood silently like tall, looming shadows – it’s no wonder Star Wars fans quickly drew comparisons to Dementors and the Grim Reaper.

But with so many characters and meandering storylines included in The Last Jedi, what are the chances of Snoke’s special forces reappearing in two months’ time? Turns out the Knights of Ren have been tipped for an appearance before, and during Lucasfilm’s special event last week, which was held to honor all of the memorable locations synonymous with the franchise (see: Tatooine, Endor, Dagobah), some new footage was shown, which The Hollywood Reporter describes as so:

It showed John Boyega and Oscar Isaac, as well as Ridley and Hamill, scampering up and down Skellig’s steep hillside and shooting scenes in Oscar-winning production designer Rick Heinrichs’ breathlessly cantilevered Jedi village, which was suspended 700 feet above the surf.

The message boards over on Star Wars News Net quickly went into a tizzy, with one user alleging that the Knights of Ren will pay a visit to Luke and Rey on Ahch-To. He/she claims to have been in attendance at last week’s event, but we’d still advise you to take this one with a grain of salt from Kessel’s spice mines.

Kylo and the knights of Ren attack Luke and Rey on Ahch to. Seems to be a prolonged battle. Dusk into the nighttime light. The Falcon takes heavy damage in some beauty shots over Ireland. Presumably trying to escape. Luke joins Rey in the tree and they’re not alone. Both turn/look at a point while inside.

Pretty cool, no? Assuming this is indeed the case, it would seem Star Wars: The Last Jedi‘s grand finale may take place on Ahch-To after all, which has served as Luke’s temporary abode for years. But again, with no official details to consult, your guess is as good as ours.
