Star Wars: The Last Jedi Tidbits Point To “Executioner” Stormtroopers And Kylo Ren’s Tweaked Appearance

Making Star Wars has unearthed a series of Star Wars: The Last Jedi tidbits that point to "Executioner" type Stormtroopers and a scarred Kylo Ren.

Another day, another raft of Star Wars: The Last Jedi rumors to sift through. This latest round of purported tidbits hail from Making Star Wars – often a fairly dependable source for SW trinkets – and point to “Executioner” type Stormtroopers that will be accompanying Captain Phasma (Gwendoline Christie) and her “killer” new staff, along with a slightly new look for Adam Driver’s mercurial Kylo Ren.

First up, Making Star Wars has posted a sketch of Phasma and her two new allies, both of which come packing an electrified pike – not unlike the one used by FN-2187 in The Force Awakens. The outlet goes on to suggest that those elite First Order Stormtroopers will crop up in several scenes in the Rian Johnson-directed sequel, but stops short of disclosing any further details regarding story, let alone the context of their involvement.

Moving on to Kylo Ren and it seems the wounded Jedi will be sporting a slightly new look by the time Star Wars: The Last Jedi opens in December. We’ve already caught wind of the many planets said to feature in Disney’s upcoming sequel – Tatooine, Endor and Mustafar have all been name-dropped in recent weeks – and it looks as though Adam Driver’s towering menace will be sporting a full cape in the style of his grandfather. Yes, his journey to becoming Darth Vader 2.0 is set to continue in The Last Jedi, and that can only portend all manner of trouble for the Resistance.

Going one step further, Making Star Wars claims that Kylo Ren will be sporting a gnarly facial scar following his duel with Rey which, out of all of today’s morsels, is surely the one most likely to be true. Finally, today’s onslaught of Star Wars rumors ends with a nod toward the Dubrovnik casino planet, which will seemingly go by the name of Canto Bight. Stay tuned for more on that one.

It’s the “perfect chapter” in the Skywalker saga, according to Disney CEO Bob Iger, and we’ll know for sure if he’s correct when Star Wars: The Last Jedi shoots for theaters on December 15th.
