Stephen King has seen ‘The Flash’ and he has some ‘eye-popping’ thoughts

Stephen King shares a pretty uncharacteristic review of DC's next big film.

Horror author Stephen King has been vocal in the past about how he isn’t a fan of the superhero movie genre. However, it looks like that’s recently changed after he attended an advanced screening of DC’s The Flash.

After the author sat through the film, King took to Twitter to reveal that he actually enjoyed the film. This is coming from someone who once said they were sick of the genre and wanted to see the horror scene flourish. So ,knowing that he had a positive reaction to this upcoming DC blockbuster, perhaps seeing this film won’t be a waste of time.

Fans were shocked to see King attend an advanced screening, knowing his previous thoughts on the genre. So to fact-check this information, people looked towards DC’s co-chief, James Gunn, and asked if he actually attended the movie. After all, the former Guardians of the Galaxy director once said to not accept any speculation and rumors unless it comes from him directly. Fortunately, Gunn was online at the time King’s tweet was shared and was able to confirm that King really did attend the screening.

King’s comments are one of many praises The Flash has received from audiences who were lucky enough to watch it early. The first worldwide premiere was back during CinemaCon 2023, and audiences claimed that it was the “best superhero film” to date, despite it not being the official final cut of the movie.

Official reviews for the film have not yet been released, and as such, people were warned to take these praises with a grain of salt. But, if you want to see if what King said was true, The Flash will hit theaters on June 16, 2023.
