Seeing as how this is a comic book movie, it’s to be expected that Steve be resurrected in some wacky manner. After all, nobody ever truly stays dead in the source material, so why not carry that over to cinema?

As for how the combat veteran will find himself alive and well in the era of Reaganomics, hair metal and Hulkamania, That Hashtag Show is reporting we owe a debt of gratitude to Maxwell Lord. Set to be played by Pedro Pascal, his powers aren’t identical to his comic book counterpart. Rather, he’s said to grant wishes – at a price.

In addition to bestowing Kristen Wiig’s Barbara Minerva with her Cheetah powers, Lord will be responsible for Steve’s comeback as well. Actually, this is very similar to what our source told us all the way back in January, so this report sounds pretty solid.

If you’re familiar with Maxwell Lord, then you probably remember how past live action versions of him didn’t always mirror the comics. Normally, he’s able to manipulate the minds of others, which we did see on Smallville. But when he appeared on Supergirl, however, he was a billionaire industrialist similar to Lex Luthor.

Suffice it to say, all will be revealed when Wonder Woman 1984 arrives in theaters on June 5th, 2020.
