Interestingly, Margot Robbie’s Quinn is seen sporting normal attire, hinting that Ayer will introduce fans to a much more rational and sane Dr. Harleen Quinzel, who acted as a psychiatrist in Arkham Asylum prior to her first encounter with DC’s deranged supervillain. In addition, the stills embedded in the gallery below showcase another look at the tattooed Leto as the Joker who, despite naysayers, embodies the infamous big bad relatively well, replete with those lime-green locks.

From what we’ve seen thus far, it’s evident that Warner Bros. and Ayer are looking to distinguish their interpretation of the Joker from past Batman outings, portraying the sinister crook as more of a devious street criminal than an over-the-top clown. A good thing, too, considering that Suicide Squad will be chock full of menacing enemies, meaning that the Joker will need to act as the loosest of loose cannons if he is to stand out from the rest of Task Force X.

With Robbie and Leto playing the aforementioned, wholly bonkers couple, the remainder of the cast list includes Will Smith, Joel Kinnaman, Jai Courtney, Viola Davis, Cara Delevingne and Jessie Eisenberg as Lex Luthor in a role that will help dovetail Ayer’s film with Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice.

Suicide Squad will hit the big screen on August 5, 2016.
