James Gunn has already admitted that he’d love nothing more than to find room in the DCU for every single one of his regular Guardians of the Galaxy collaborators, something that’s already been deemed as both a blessing and a curse by the filmmaker’s supporters and detractors alike.
While there’s a huge groundswell of support behind the idea of finding a meaty role for Dave Bautista somewhere within the franchise’s Chapter 1 – Gods & Monsters, the same can’t exactly be said about Chris Pratt. However, it’s a Guardians veteran that’s never actually set foot on the set of the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s cosmic saga that’s being touted for the most spiteful role imaginable, and not for the first time either.
Having been unceremoniously cast out in the wake of Black Adam underperforming at the box office and sitting ill-at-ease with Gunn and fellow co-CEO Peter Safran’s plans for the future, the simple question posed on Reddit as to which role would be ideal for Vin Diesel in the new and improved DCU drew one answer that proved more popular than the rest.
You have to admit given their long-running feud dating back to Fast & Furious that’s seen them take regular shots at each other in the press, it would be one of the most hilarious developments in the history of superhero cinema were Gunn to either announce or reveal as a surprise that Diesel had stepped up to the plate to become the new Black Adam.
If he can spend almost an entire season of Peacemaker calling Jason Momoa’s Aquaman a fish-f*cker, then why not?
