Going by recent reports, there probably won’t be a Deadpool 3, but even if that hypothetical sequel ever does go into production, T.J. Miller apparently won’t be involved.

The former Silicon Valley star played Wade Wilson’s best friend Weasel in the first two Deadpool movies, with the second instalment drawing some criticism for failing to cut out the actor in the wake of sexual assault allegations. After those accusations surfaced, Miller’s reputation faltered further when he was arrested on the charge of calling in a fake bomb threat while riding an Amtrak train. If convicted, the comedian could face up to five years in prison.

In all this chaos and controversy, it should come as little surprise to hear that Miller’s role has been cut from the Marvel series. The actor himself confirmed as such in a social media exchange, in which he was asked about the Deadpool 3 situation, prompting Miller to sign off with the response, “I’m not in it. Gooobye!”

Of course, it’s currently looking like nobody’s going to be in Deadpool 3, with Wade’s next proper feature set to be X-Force. As it stands, even director Drew Goddard seems unsure of when and how things will be moving forward on that film, but again, it’s been confirmed that Miller will not be involved.

In fact, now that the Fox team has had a little more time to shoot new material for Once Upon a Deadpool, there’s a good chance that the PG-13 re-release of Deadpool 2 will cut out more than just the violence and swearing, since the studio would probably care to avoid another round of Miller-related backlash. Either way, we’ll find out when the movie runs in cinemas for two weeks from December 12th.
