In Avengers: Infinity War, Thanos will finally step out of the shadows and take on the combined forces of Earth’s Mightiest Heroes. After various teaser appearances and cameos dating all the way back to 2012’s The Avengers, there’s a lot of hype for the Mad Titan and he’s all set to be the biggest, baddest enemy the heroes of the Marvel universe have ever faced. We’re sure that the titular team will ultimately be able to take him down, but they’re certainly going to have a tough time doing so.
Not only will Thanos have the Black Order there to help him, but he’ll also be in possession of the incredibly powerful Infinity Gauntlet, which will be fully equipped by the time the film rolls around. It’ll essentially allow the uber villain to wreak havoc and do just about anything he wants, which means he’s definitely going to be a force to be reckoned with. And if the character’s creator, Jim Starlin, is to be believed, the portrayal of the Mad Titan in Joe and Anthony Russo’s upcoming flick is going to put a smile on the faces of fans.
“I want to tell all you Thanos fans out there, without giving anything away, you’re not going to be disappointed, far from it. I truly believe folks will be pleasantly shocked by how delightfully different these two movies will be from previous Marvel films.
Joe, Anthony, Chris, Stephen and the rest of the gang have my complete confidence in their ushering of our favorite Mad Titan out from the world of comics and into the Marvel cinematic universe. My first born leaves the nest to wreck havoc on the heavens. What more could a proud father hope for?”
While he obviously couldn’t say much, Starlin’s comments here are certainly exciting and only have us even more eager to finally see the big bad in action. This isn’t the first time we’ve heard someone hype up Thanos, either, as the actor bringing him to life, Josh Brolin, spoke about the character not too long ago as well, saying:
“When they showed me a little six-minute teaser of a scene that I had done, I was so blown away by how next-level this digital process is and how real it feels. I don’t know how I could be anything but happy. If everybody hates me at the end of it, I don’t know, will it be worth it if it’s a great movie? Maybe.”
Avengers: Infinity War is slated for release on May 4th, 2018. Closer to home though, Thor: Ragnarok will hit theaters on November 3rd, and the first reviews for Taika Waititi’s threequel have been nothing short of stellar.
