7) The Origin Story
When the trailers for Batman V Superman made it clear that we’d be getting another take on the Caped Crusader’s origin story, I think it’s fair to say that we all rolled our eyes.
After all, it’s a scene which has played out on the page, on TV, and on the big screen almost countless times, so what on Earth could Zack Snyder bring to the table that would feel new?
[zergpaid]Well, to give credit where it’s due, the filmmaker did a fantastic job of putting a new spin on a familiar moment by making it part of the opening credits sequence and borrowing heavily from how it played out in The Dark Knight Returns.
That Frank Miller tale was used as inspiration for the movie and is actually referenced in various ways throughout, despite Batman V Superman not being a straight adaptation of it.
