‘The Flash’ is dimming at the box office but successfully re-flames a forever Marvel disappointment

After the magic fans saw in 'The Flash,' they're wondering why it can't be duplicated in other movies going forward.

The Flash has finally surpassed its $200 million budget, which makes it a bonafide money maker even though it crawled past the line in comparison to other superhero movies that have broken records on the first weekend. Its cameos might be one reason for that and fans are now wondering why recasting beloved characters can’t be done in other parts of the comic universe.

Despite its bad press with the off-set behavior of the film’s star, Ezra Miller, fans are still lining up at the theaters to watch the movie. That could be because Michael Keaton came back to reprise his role as Batman as well as Ben Affleck. The film’s success could also be attributed to the fact that other cameos include Helen Slater as Supergirl, Christopher Reeve as Superman, George Reeves as Superman, and Adam West as Batman.

The fact that Sasha Calle was also Supergirl in the film makes the point abundantly clear that there have been quite a few recast decisions over the years. If that’s possible, then some fans would like to know if other superheroes have been recast. Of course, the question actually jumps across the pond to Marvel Comics but it’s a legitimate question – or so it seems on the surface.

Besides Chadwick Boseman playing Black Panther, so has Djimon Hounsou, James C. Mathis III, Jeffrey D. Sams, and Omari Newton. Of course, it’s entirely possible to recast the Black Panther but that’s not really Marve’s style, at least not lately in the series of films that started in 2008 with Iron Man. Celebrities keep their uniforms once they are issued with only a few exceptions to the rule, if a rule exists.

Of course, the loss of Chadwick Boseman was too soon for some fans. They weren’t ready for Chad’s legacy to just be cast aside and someone new shoved in the role like it never mattered.

There is no one saying that it will never happen. With the way Marvel is going, it very well could happen that T’Challa would take on more adventures. The Avengers were able to reverse the destruction Thanos brought to the world. It can be done again.

Of course, DC and MC are two entirely different worlds even though there have been crossovers before. That doesn’t mean MC can’t adopt a few things from its elder of two years.
