The full cast of ‘They Cloned Tyrone’

Netflix's upcoming sci-fi comedy film has quite an illustrious cast in tow.

They Cloned Tyrone is due on Netflix later this summer, and so far, the sci-fi comedy has made quite the case as the streamer’s summer hit, an ethos that’s set to be tested when it has its world premiere at the American Black Film Festival later today.

Directed by Juel Taylor in his feature debut with a script from Taylor and Tony Rettenmaier, They Cloned Tyrone follows the plight of three strangers as they get wrapped up in disturbing event after disturbing event, eventually leading them to uncover a head-spinning government conspiracy that they take upon themselves to stand against.

Armed with some high-profile Disney stars and the ever-charismatic Jamie Foxx, They Cloned Tyrone certainly looks like it has the pieces to succeed, but who exactly comprises such pieces? Here’s the full cast of They Cloned Tyrone.

John Boyega

Spearheading the cast is one John Boyega, the Star Wars veteran who portrays protagonist Fontaine in the film. A struggling hustler, Fontaine appears to be one of the first people to clue into the mysterious shenanigans going on, which happen to include coming face-to-face with his own clone in a particularly unnerving laboratory.

Teyonah Parris

Teyonah Parris, one of Boyega’s two co-stars, also appears as a character named Yo-Yo, who’s simply described as a “pro,” and seems to be back and forth on the group taking matters into their own hands or nopeing all the way out of this situation.

Jamie Foxx

Rounding out the leads is the one and only Jamie Foxx, who plays the character Slick Charles, a pimp who doesn’t take kindly to the impromptu investigation at first, but seems to eventually take charge and rally the troops against the scrub-clad conspirators, so to speak.

Supporting cast

Kiefer Sutherland and David Alan Grier are both set to appear in yet-unnamed supporting roles and while there’s very little information surrounding their characters, it stands to reason that Sutherland will likely have an antagonistic role. As for the Tony Award-winning Grier, his character could be involved in any number of ways.

Rounding out the major players of the film’s cast are J. Alphonse Nicholson, Tamberla Perry, and Eric Robinson Jr., who portray the characters Issac, Biddy, and Big Moss, respectively. Like Sutherland and Grier, it’s hard to say for sure what sort of role they’ll each be playing in They Cloned Tyrone, although it wouldn’t be terribly surprising if they served as major players in the eventual uprising.
