Meet The Cast Of The Grand Budapest Hotel With New Trailer And Posters

There's really no mistaking a Wes Anderson film for a film from any other director, and vice versa. Many have tried to imitate his charmingly retro style and/or his quirky characters, but none have really succeeded. So, when you see the newest trailer for Anderson's newest film, The Grand Budapest Hotel, you'll quickly have a pretty good idea of what you're in for.

There’s really no mistaking a Wes Anderson film for a film by any other director, and vice versa. Many have tried to imitate his charmingly retro style and/or quirky characters, but none have really succeeded. So, when you see the newest trailer for Anderson’s newest film, The Grand Budapest Hotel, you’ll quickly have a pretty good idea of what you’re in for.

Whether or not it appeals to you depends on how much you appreciate Anderson’s style, which has become more and more ossified with every movie he has made. He is a director who knows what he likes, and he doesn’t deviate very far from his very specific aesthetic. That’s not necessarily a bad thing, but it’s not everyone’s cup of tea.

If it is your cup of tea, though, The Grand Budapest hotel looks every bit as marvelous as Anderson’s previous works, and it especially looks like it could inhabit the same universe as his previous film, Moonrise Kingdom. The cast alone is worth the price of admission, with Anderson regulars like Bill Murray and Jason Schwartzman and some welcome newcomers like Jude Law and Ralph Fiennes.

It’s the characters that are center stage in this newest trailer for the film, and in case you were wondering who’s playing whom there is also an accompanying poster with each major character, his or her name, and the name of the actor portraying him/her. You know, for the people who don’t know who Bill Murray is by looking at him. (If you’re one of those people, you’re not invited to any of my parties.)

In addition to the trailer and the poster, there is a “motion poster,” which is something halfway between the two and definitely has a very Wes Anderson-y vibe to it. It shows the titular hotel during the daytime, at night, and with a little bit of snowfall.

The Grand Budapest Hotel is scheduled for release in theaters on March 7th, 2014. Check out the promotional media below and ready your best jokes about Wes Anderson filming with Instagram filters.
