There’s been a lot of news about The Hangover Part II recently, specifically surrounding that of cameos from Bill Clinton accepting a role to Mel Gibson declining one. But there have been no details on plot, until now. From Warners press kit:
In the follow-up to the record-breaking hit comedy The Hangover Phil (Bradley Cooper), Stu (Ed Helms), Alan (Zach Galifianakis) and Doug (Justin Bartha) travel to exotic Thailand for Stu’s wedding. After the unforgettable bachelor party in Las Vegas, Stu is taking no chances and has opted for a safe, subdued pre-wedding brunch. However, things don’t always go as planned. What happens in Vegas may stay in Vegas, but what happens in Bangkok can’t even be imagined.
Doesn’t that last sentence just scream out to be a tagline. Writer/director Todd Phillips is being very quiet in regards to plot details and spoilers of the new film, which is quite an honorable thing. The plot synopsis really gives nothing away but nicely sets it up for the fans of the original.
To now make my self incredibly unpopular, I was one of the few people, perhaps even the only person in the world, who didn’t find The Hangover funny. I wanted to like it but I sat in the theater and laughed twice. So I doubt whether I’ll have any interest in it until I see a trailer but for now I remain unconvinced. Of course if you’re a fan, and let’s face it, who isn’t, you’ll be ready and in line for the next film.
The Hangover Part II will be released May 26, 2011
