The most absurd ‘Ant-Man 3’ rumors yet suggest that somehow, MODOK will return

Could Darren Cross really get the Palpatine treatment?

There’s so much about Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania that inspired (Nick) fury in the Marvel fandom, but the element that irritated comic book readers the most has to be the depiction of M.O.D.O.K. For some reason, folks got extremely angry over a giant-headed henchman with baby arms and legs being portrayed as a comic character and were even more enraged over his — spoilers! — self-sacrificial death scene.

Except, in what surely qualifies as the wildest rumors to come out of Quantumania that we’ve heard to date, the latest word on the street has it that *Oscar Isaac impression* somehow, M.O.D.O.K. will return. Although Darren Cross’ arc seemingly pretty cut and dried by the end of Ant-Man 3, a Twitter user calling themselves @thevscooper is claiming that this M.O.D.O.K. was just “his origin, not his full form,” and that, despite appearances, he secretly “escaped and is alive.”

If you believe this intel, Marvel is already mapping out concept art for a more hardcore M.O.D.O.K. to feature in future projects.

Yes, apparently reports of M.O.D.O.K.’s death have been greatly exaggerated. In fact, he may yet reappear in Vision Quest, the upcoming WandaVision spinoff starring Paul Bettany’s White Vision.

M.O.D.O.K. turning against Kang and hilariously believing he died an Avenger was, according to this alleged info, not exactly what it appeared to be as earlier drafts revealed he was “faking it” and the truth came out in an “amazing” cut scene.

Suffice it to say we should take all this with enough salt to grit a frozen highway, as it’s curious that this supposed leak would be the dream scenario for every fan still smarting from how M.O.D.O.K. was handled in Quantumania. What’s more, we know so little about Vision Quest at this juncture that it’s anyone’s guess what happens in it. Still, stranger things have happened in the MCU, so you never know. Maybe the Mechanized Organism Designed Only for Killing could be redesigned for a killer comeback.
