Before you get too excited, though, it appears as if this version of the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man is little more than a giant inflatable from a parade and most definitely not a ghost. It’s still a nice nod to the original movies of course, but it could be argued that this is an Easter Egg which should have been saved for the movie itself.

Like Slimer, the inclusion of the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man is an odd creative decision, especially when this is supposed to be a new take on the franchise. As a result, Ghostbusters feels like it’s stuck somewhere between being a reboot and sequel, and the fact that it’s borrowing so much from what’s come before is likely to upset some fans.

Regardless, we’ll finally see how it all turns out when Ghostbusters is released on July 22nd.
