The worst idea you’ll ever hear to ‘safeguard’ the future of the MCU surely has to be sarcasm

David Zaslav, is that you?

If you take the online panic at face value – which you definitely shouldn’t – then the Marvel Cinematic Universe is on its last legs after becoming so big and unwieldy that there’s no other outcome than the bubble bursting in spectacular fashion.

While it can’t be argued that the Multiverse Saga hasn’t been the greatest stage of storytelling the franchise has ever seen, there’s not an IP in the industry that boasts a 100 percent success rate, but that was always going to happen when the Disney Plus expansion stretched Kevin Feige and his creatives to breaking point like never before.

There’s also ongoing criticisms of the writing, with Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania endemic of the problems that plague the MCU at large, but the forums have Reddit have now spewed out a suggestion to safeguard the future of the superhero sandbox that’s so terrible it needs to be sarcasm, because it’s really that bad.

As it goes, the belief is that hiring die-hard fans, influencers, and YouTubers to crowd-write Marvel Studios’ next major hopes, which would ensure that “there won’t be any plot holes and is guaranteed to produce stories that can generate billions of dollars for the studio,” and it would “also overcome the writers’ strike.”

Is this real? It can’t be real. If professional screenwriters can’t hammer the MCU into acceptable enough shape, then what chance do a bunch of dudes from the internet have? They might have some ambitious pitches, but we do kind of want to see it happen for the sole purpose of witnessing the ungodly mess that would undoubtedly turn out.
