Here are some of Tom Hank's greatest work that you can easily watch on Netflix.

Tom Hanks recently proclaimed that future movies that involve him could just be a digital avatar generated with AI. But before everyone worries if the actor is dead or not, let’s look back at some of Hanks’ work throughout his acting career, especially when he’s championing the idea of digital replicas of your favorite actors and actresses. These films are currently accessible on Netflix, and they showcase some of the actors’ greatest work, as well as the skills of a talented human since his career started in the 1980s.

Sleepless in Seattle

Out of all the romantic comedy films that Hanks has starred in, Sleepless in Seattle has to be one of his best works. The film was released in 1993, and it’s about a man who loses his wife and starts a new life in Seattle with his son. The film starts on a sad note, since it’s about a widowed husband who’s lonely. But it later pushes you to root for him since he’s been given a second chance at love. He just needs to go for it. Sleepless in Seattle managed to grab the attention of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences since it was nominated for two Oscar awards.

A League of Their Own

A League of Their Own starred a lot of Hollywood big-hitters, Hanks aside The film featured pop sensation, Madonna, and 1987s Bates Motel star, Lori Petty. The film has Hanks leading a female baseball team. What made Hanks’ acting entertaining is that he doesn’t want to be mean to these women, but he also wants them to win and lift their spirits. So you could see his annoyance whilst also trying to be a good coach. The film is comedic, also managed to make its way to the US National Film Registry thanks to its success. It also spawned a handful of spin-offs and reboots, including one that’s available on Amazon.

Charlie Wilson’s War

Not everything Hanks does ends up a success. But just because a film is a flop doesn’t mean his performance is as well. An example of this is Charlie Wilson’s War. As of writing, the film holds a high score on Rotten Tomatoes. However, at the time of its release, it was criticized by both the former Reagan administration officials and Russia. Not to mention, it was also criticized for not being historically accurate. Regardless, the film featured a handful of Hollywood celebrities such as Julia Roberts, Philip Seymour Hoffman, and Amy Adams, and Hanks fans got to see the actor showcase both his serious and comedic performances.

Captain Phillips

You might remember Captain Philips since a scene in the film became a meme a few years back. But little did you know that this movie was based on true events. This film was able to showcase Hanks’ performance in a highly intense scene, whilst also giving an amazing performance of one man’s trauma after a near-death experience. If you want to watch something recent that’s filled with stakes and a high-quality performance, this is the film to watch. Such a shame that it didn’t win any Oscars, since Hanks’ performance at the end really does pull one’s heartstrings.

A Man Called Otto

Lastly, let’s not forget Hanks’ most recent work, A Man Called Otto. The film is about a man who seems to have a grudge against the world and attempts to end his life. However, people in his neighborhood interrupt these attempts, slowly giving this man another reason to keep on living. Viewers will be taken through an emotional rollercoaster as this watch this grumpy old man slowly gets along with the people around him. A Man Called Otto has a decent critics score on Rotten Tomatoes. However, fans gave this film a 97 percent rating and praised it for its sad story and how it was able to address difficult subjects and social issues.

Tom Hanks is a talented man. He’s appeared in multiple films, TV shows, and let’s not forget that one Carly Rae Jepsen music video. He has many talents and it’s no wonder people appreciate him as an actor. So before AI end up replacing him, hopefully, these films showcase the immense talent and skill Hanks has.
