Production continues to truck along Down Under on the set of Marvel’s Thor: Ragnarok – and to prove it, a batch of new set photos have now emerged via CBM.

Whereas before practically all of the tidbits that found their way online revolved around Chris Hemsworth’s God of Thunder, his hulking new sidekick and key members of the creative team – director Taika Waititi included – these stills place a laser focus on the actual sets, revealing an Asgard under construction. Granted, that opulent production could be doubling for another of the Nine Realms, given Ragnarok‘s galactic scope.

There is some potentially concerning news to go along with this latest status update, though, as Gold Coast Bulletin reports that upwards of 100 employees were laid off from the Marvel production, despite claims that they were supposed to remain on board until at least October.

Citing sources close to set, GCB writes:

“There’s quite a lot of antagonism about how the New Zealand crew is being well looked after and seem to be in charge of a lot of main jobs.” Another said, “I came back from Europe for this job and was told I’d have at least six months’ work. I got a week’s notice and haven’t had time to organize work. I’ve got a mortgage and kids to feed. They’ve looked after their own and it’s the locals who have all suffered.”

How and ever, Australian Premier of Queensland Annastacia Palaszczuk doesn’t have any concerns with Thor: Ragnarok approaching the end of its production ahead of schedule, stating, “what we have seen is that the stage for Thor has been completed and those jobs are finished. As the construction comes to an end, what we will see is more jobs when actors come in. I don’t have any concerns. I’m very satisfied.”

Bound for Marvel’s spacefaring threequel are the familiar faces of Idris Elba, Jaimie Alexander and Anthony Hopkins, along with newcomers Tessa Thompson, Star Trek Beyond alum Karl Urban, Cate Blanchett and Jeff Goldblum.

After guiding Sam Neill around the wilderness on a Hunt for the Wilderpeople, Taika Waititi will whisk Marvelites back into the Nine Realms when Thor: Ragnarok checks into theaters on November 3, 2017.
