After bringing us word on one of the strange new characters that’ll apparently be introduced in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, Geek.com are back with another villain-related Marvel scoop. This time they reckon they’ve received word on which pair of antagonists will feature in Thor: Ragnarok, and it seems they’re exactly who you probably figure they’d be.

It’s been a foregone conclusion in many fans’ minds that Hela, ruler of the Asgardian Underworld, would be the next big bad for the God of Thunder to contend with, and apparently they were spot on. Cate Blanchett is said to be up for a villainous role in the movie and Hela would seem like the most obvious choice, but we don’t have confirmation of that just yet. The site does add a few juicy new plot details, however.

“In Thor: Ragnarok, Hela and Loki will have set their plan well in motion by the time Thor gets wise to what’s going on. Hela ends up creating the incident to Thor’s journey in the film. According to our sources, when Thor confronts Hela, things do not go well. Not only does she banish Thor from Asgard, but she destroys Mjolnir!”

Could we see Thor without the use of his most powerful weapon? He’s relied on it to a great extent in previous Marvel flicks, so it would be an interesting twist for him to have to get by without it. We’ll be taking this as a rumor for now, but let us know what you think in the comments section below.

Thor: Ragnarok hits theaters on November 3, 2017.
