‘Thunderbolts’ star Florence Pugh knowing literally nothing about ‘Thunderbolts’ is totally fine and not at all worrying

The 'Black Widow' actress might not be concerned, but the fans sure are.

Every now and then, we’ll receive an update about Thunderbolts that doesn’t so much hype up the fandom’s excitement for next year’s MCU summer blockbuster as increase their concern instead. On top of criticisms that the roster of redeemed bad guys who’ll lead this film — which includes Red Guardian (David Harbour), U.S. Agent (Wyatt Russell), and Taskmaster (Olga Kurylenko) — is too samey, one underrated fave may even have been secretly cut from the cast.

What’s more, in another alarming update, Yelena Belova herself Florence Pugh has admitted that she knows practically nothing about the film, despite featuring as its female lead opposite Sebastian Stan’s Bucky Barnes. While speaking to GamesRadar, the Black Widow star came clean that she “doesn’t know about” either the shoot, which kicks off in June, or “what the storyline is.” Whatever is thrown her way, however, the optimistic actress promises that she’ll “act the hell out of it.”

While we have no doubt Pugh will give the production her all, the news that Thunderbolts‘ leading lady has no clue about the movie’s story just three months before it goes before cameras is causing fans to break out in a cold sweat.

Just a tad.

Maybe there’s a dark, James Gunn-style reason Pugh doesn’t know anything?

Others aren’t worried, though, as they know they’ll be there on opening day no matter what.

We call this the “Tom Holland’s going to a wedding” scenario.

Over on Reddit, meanwhile, folks voiced their frustration with Marvel keeping its card so close to its chest, arguing that it hinders the cast’s performances.

To be fair, Dave Bautista says a lot of things, but this isn’t one of them.

Still, to stay positive, let’s all just appreciate Pugh’s well-founded confidence in her own skill as an artist.

Thunderbolts is set to strike into cinemas on July 26, 2024.
