Author and screenwriter Seth Grahame-Smith has revealed plans to reunite with his Dark Shadows director Tim Burton. The writer is currently working on a Beetlejuice sequel for Burton and has now revealed that he is in the middle of writing another film for the director, a stop motion feature entitled Night Of The Living.
Grahame-Smith spoke with THR, where he revealed his plans for Night Of The Living.
“When we were shooting Dark Shadows last year I worked up the nerve to tell Tim about it because I always thought it would make a good movie. When I saw what he had done with Frankweenie [sic] and Corpse Bride, it always struck me as a great idea for that form. I’m writing it at Warner’s Bros. for him (as a stop-motion monster movie).”
He then went on to say that that he will start on the Bettlejuice sequel after he finishes Night Of The Living, which should be sometime later this year.
Being a big fan of Burton’s work, I’m thrilled with this news. I really enjoyed what he did with Corpse Bride and Night Of The Living sounds like it will be quite similar.
Plus, Dark Shadows looks great. Grahame-Smith’s writing style seems to complement Burton’s vision really well and I think that the two are an excellent pair.
If Dark Shadows works out well, you can be sure that we’ll be seeing more projects from these two, aside from just Night Of The Living.
