Deadline is reporting that Friday Night Lights actor Todd Allen has joined the cast of Quentin Tarantino‘s Django Unchained. Allen has signed on to play the minor role of Dollar Bill, who is a plantation overseer.

In further news, Jonah Hill has revealed to MTV that he would have been in the film, however scheduling conflicts kept him from signing on.

“I got offered the new Quentin Tarantino movie, and I can’t do it because of my schedule… Doing Quentin’s movie would have obviously been amazing, but my schedule didn’t work out, which sucks.”

I’d say that the role Hill would have been offered is the role of Scott Harmony, which from reading the script, sounds like a perfect match. It’s upsetting that we won’t see him in the film but hopefully he’ll get another chance to work with the legendary director.

Django Unchained stars Jamie Foxx, Leonardo DiCaprio, Christoph Waltz, Samuel L. Jackson, Kerry Washington, Don Johnson, Dennis Christopher, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Anthony LaPaglia, Laura Cayouette, Gerald McRaney, Tom Savini, RZA, Todd Allen and Misty Upham and will be in cinemas on December 25th, 2012.
