First Look At Tom Cruise In Rock Of Ages

This is one I've been waiting to see for a long time. Ever since it was announced that Tom Cruise would play Stacee Jaxx in Adam Shankman's upcoming adaptation of Rock Of Ages there has only been one question on my mind, how? How would Cruise pull off the role? Having seen the play on Broadway, I seriously couldn't see how Tom Cruise was going to transform himself into Stacee Jaxx.

This is one I’ve been waiting to see for a long time. Ever since it was announced that Tom Cruise would play Stacee Jaxx in Adam Shankman‘s upcoming adaptation of Rock Of Ages there has only been one question on my mind, how? How would Cruise pull off the role? Having seen the play on Broadway, I seriously couldn’t see how Tom Cruise was going to transform himself into Stacee Jaxx.

I’m sure many were thinking the same and thankfully, Mr. Cruise has so generously put our worries to rest by releasing the first photo of himself as the 80’s rocker. Admittedly, he looks the part and my hesitations have certainly been subdued, for the time being at least. Whether he can nail the musical numbers or not is a different question but at least he won’t look out of place.

Judging by the other photos we’ve seen, everyone looks a bit different here. I’m excited though. It will be neat to see all these actors/actresses in a way that we’re not used to seeing them. I loved the play when I saw it on Broadway and I’m really hoping that the film turns out alright.

Co-starring are Malin Akerman, Julianne Hough, Diego Boneta, Paul Giamatti, Mary J. Blige, Catherine Zeta-Jones and Bryan Cranston, the film hits theaters on June 1, 2012
