Tom Hardy And Noomi Rapace To Team Up Again For Child 44

Earlier this month we reported that Tom Hardy and Noomi Rapace will be teaming up for the film Animal Rescue, an adaptation of the Dennis Lehane novel. At the time, it seemed like a match made in heaven. Rapace and Hardy, two of Hollywood's most sought after actors, working together? Can't get much better than that, right? Well, apparently it can as today, THR reports that the two stars will come together again for the Cold War era flick Child 44.

Set to be produced by Ridley Scott, the Daniel Espinosa helmed film will be based on Tom Rob Smith’s book. Richard Price will adapt the story which follows “a disgraced MGB agent (Hardy) in the Stalin-era Soviet Union investigating a prolific child murderer who may have connections going to the very top of the party leadership. Rapace will play the wife of the agent with secrets of her own.”

It sounds like an interesting story and for those who don’t know, it’s based on the true account of the Rostov Ripper, a Ukranian serial killer. The book is also the first in a trilogy, meaning if the film does well, we could see Rapace and Hardy teaming up a lot more. And of course, that’s a great thing.

I love Tom Hardy and I love Noomi Rapace, I honestly love both of them, in any role they are appear in. So between this and Animal Rescue, I have a lot to look forward to, and you can be sure that both films will turn out to be absolutely excellent. Admittedly, I didn’t love Daniel Espinosa’s Safe House, but I have faith that Hardy and Rapace alone can make this one worth a watch.

Child 44 will start shooting in May in Budapest. We’ll keep you updated as more news arises. What do you think though? Are you excited to see Hardy and Rapace teaming up again?
