According to Birth.Movies.Death, The Avengers star Tom Hiddleston is in talks to take over the mantle from Daniel Craig and play James Bond in the franchise’s next film. The studio hasn’t made any official announcement regarding this just yet, but Birth.Movies.Death cites that sources close to the actor are telling them that he’s currently in “advanced negotiations” to play the iconic role.
Of course, who’s going to be the next James Bond is one of the hottest topics at the moment, and we’ve heard that everyone from Idris Elba to Jamie Bell is being looked at for the part. Hiddleston has always been a top contender and a fan favorite for the role, but without studio confirmation, we’d advise taking this news with a massive grain of salt.
[zergpaid]That being said, we do know that Craig recently turned down $99 million to return as the iconic super spy, so the hunt is clearly on for the next actor to play Bond – we just haven’t heard anything official on who the producers have their eye on.
Anyone who’s seen Tom Hiddleston’s work will know that he’s more than capable of slipping into the role, granted he buffs up a bit, and given that he’s many people’s first choice, it certainly wouldn’t be a bad move to go with him as the next James Bond. Then again, actors like the aforementioned Idris Elba would also make a fantastic 007 and shouldn’t be ruled out just yet.
Regardless, this is all very exciting and as the hunt for a new James Bond continues, we’ll be sure to keep you updated!
