Holland’s reputation as a source of accidental intel is hardly without basis. Just last year, for instance, the actor famously walked into a packed showing of Avengers: Infinity War and gave away the ending to the whole crowd. Nonetheless, for the most part, the star remained tight-lipped in the lead-up to Endgame. And in a recent interview with Pinkvilla, Holland admitted that he amazed even himself in his restraint.

“You know, I’m so amazed I kept all the Endgame spoilers that I knew,” Holland said. “Like, I knew that he died. I knew that we came back. I knew that Captain America got the hammer, like all those things, I knew those things, and I don’t know how I kept them secret. I don’t know how, but I’m proud and really happy I did because they’re such a great surprise in the film.”

Of course, it probably helped that Holland was largely kept out of the loop for Endgame promotion, along with the rest of the Infinity War casualties. Still, credit where credit’s due, though the Captain America hammer moment was spoiled shortly before release by a widely circulated batch of leaked footage.

In any case, it’s a little ironic that Peter Parker’s next solo outing essentially serves as one massive Avengers: Endgame spoiler, in that the film’s very existence gave away the wall-crawler’s return. Sure enough, the Infinity War sequel saw Holland’s character come back into the world of the living, though not without a few complications for the hero to contend with.

For one thing, while five years have passed since Peter was dusted, he and his classmates have stayed the same age. Meanwhile, on a more personal level, Spidey’s mentor Tony Stark has now passed away. Needless to say, the web-slinger is going to have a lot on his mind, and we’ll find out how he processes it all when Spider-Man: Far From Home hits theaters on July 2nd.
