As if the cast of Christopher Nolan’s upcoming sci-fi adventure Interstellar wasn’t exciting enough, now we’re hearing about one more promising young actor who may be joining the film. Deadline is telling us that Topher Grace is in talks to join the cast in an unspecified role.
The actor, who is best known for his lead role on That 70’s Show and as the villain Venom in Spider-Man 3, hasn’t been doing a whole lot lately. He’s made a few forgettable films here and there (Take Me Home Tonight, anyone?) but he’s not as prolific as he once was. Still, he’s a talented individual and I have no problem with him showing up in Nolan’s film.
Grace, should he sign on the dotted line, will join an incredibly stacked cast that already includes Michael Caine, Anne Hathaway, Matthew McConaughey, Jessica Chastain, Casey Affleck, Ellen Burstyn, John Lithgow, Bill Irwin, Timothee Chalamet, and Mackenzie Foy. Hands down this is one of the best line-ups that we’ve seen in some time and could be the single best cast of 2014.
Unfortunately, not much is known about Interstellar. We have the simple description that it will depict “a heroic interstellar voyage to the furthest borders of our scientific understanding,” and it features “explorers [who] travel through a wormhole,” but aside from that, we know nothing about the plot.
Interstellar is scheduled to hit theatres on November 7th, 2014. Tell us, are you excited to see Topher Grace joining the film? Do you think that the cast can possibly get any better than it already is? Let us know in the comments below.
