Is it just me, or does this seem to be a trend these days? What’s with the whole teasers for trailer fad that is sweeping Hollywood? Recently, we saw it for Twilight: Breaking Dawn – Part 2 and for Prometheus, as well as a couple of others over the past few months. Now, we have a teaser trailer for the upcoming Total Recall remake.

Essentially, this is just a tease for the full trailer, which is coming Sunday. But, being a tease, we do get to see some actual footage from the film, which is sure to excite those who are eagerly anticipating the remake.

Len Wiseman‘s forthcoming film actually looks quite good, at least from what is shown here. His slick visual style (that is very clear in his Underworld films) looks to be at play here while the futuristic city landscapes that he’s crafted look rather appealing, despite not being entirely original.

The action and stunts, which will likely be the meat and potatoes of the film, are very reminiscent of Underworld. Though that series hasn’t done terribly well with critics, at the very least, I’ve always found Wiseman’s action-horror films to be a fun watch. That being said, I’m hoping this remake is a bit of a step up from the director’s earlier films and hopefully it will do justice to the original.

Welcome to Rekall, the company that can turn your dreams into real memories. For a factory worker named Douglas Quaid (Colin Farrell), even though he’s got a beautiful wife (Kate Beckinsale) who he loves, the mind-trip sounds like the perfect vacation from his frustrating life – real memories of life as a super-spy might be just what he needs. But when the procedure goes horribly wrong, Quaid becomes a hunted man.
