So far, most of the footage released from Toy Story 4 has taken the form of brief excerpts that don’t tell us all that much about the movie as a whole, but based on all we’ve seen and heard, two characters who look set for important roles in this year’s release are Toy Story 3 absentee Bo Peep and series newcomer Forky.

From the sound of things, this was especially evident in the footage that screened to Disney shareholders earlier today. In a brief summary offered by Twitter user Scott Ladewig, it’s said that the preview starts with the young Bonnie making Forky at school. After Woody introduces the sentient spork to the rest of the gang, the toys are taken on an RV trip, at which point Forky escapes amidst an existential crisis.

This prompts Woody and Buzz to embark on a mission to rescue their confused new friend, and along the way, Woody spots Bo in an antique shop. After entering the shop to save her, he encounters a creepy doll in a baby carriage, who sends similarly creepy ventriloquist dummies after Woody and Bo in an effort to prevent them from leaving. At this point, Bo springs into action and takes control of the situation.

From here, the pair journey to a carnival, where Woody is torn between staying with Bo and going back to Bonnie. As he explains to Forky, Woody can bring happiness to Bonnie, since he’s her favorite toy, and this is what gives him life. Meanwhile, Buzz and the rest of the toys embark on a mission to bring Woody back. Lastly, there’s said to be a brief scene of Ken with a horseshoe moustache, so if the rest of the description hasn’t sold you on the movie, then there’s still that to look forward to.

From the sound of things, the choice Woody faces of sticking with Bo or returning to Bonnie might well be the central dilemma of the film, in which case, we’ll see which way he goes when Toy Story 4 hits theaters on June 21st, 2019.
