Earlier this week we heard that a new trailer for The Dark Knight Rises was going to be releasing very soon. While many originally thought that the trailer would play in front of Dark Shadows, we now have confirmation that it will be attached to Marvel’s The Avengers.
Nolan Fans broke the news and they tell us that the next trailer for 2012’s most anticipated film will be shown in front of 2012’s other most anticipated film. The cross promotion between Marvel and Warner Bros. isn’t anything new as the trailer for The Dark Knight was shown with Iron Man and the trailer for Inception was shown with Iron Man 2.
While the next Batman film has currently taken a back seat to The Avengers, you can expect the marketing blitz to pick back up in a few weeks, once all the hype  around The Avengers has died down. Though with the amount of buzz that the film has and all the positive reviews that are popping up, it makes me wonder, is The Avengers going to be 2012’s biggest film? Will it take that title away from The Dark Knight Rises?
The Dark Knight Rises stars Christian Bale, Gary Oldman, Morgan Freeman, Nestor Carbonell and Michael Caine along with franchise newcomers Anne Hathaway, Tom Hardy, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Marion Cotillard, Juno Temple and Josh Pence. It will hit theaters on July 20, 2012.
