Trailer For Josh Hartnett’s Bunraku

A trailer has landed for the wacky indie film Bunraku. Starring a decent cast that consists of Josh Hartnett, Woody Harrelson, Gackt, Ron Perlman,Demi Moore and Kevin McKidd, the film looks pretty over the top and genuinely fun. It's been making its way through the festival circuit and while it hasn't been getting good reviews, I really don't think it looks that bad.

A trailer has landed for the wacky indie film Bunraku. Starring a decent cast that consists of Josh Hartnett, Woody Harrelson, Gackt, Ron Perlman, Demi Moore and Kevin McKidd, the film looks pretty over the top but still genuinely fun. It’s been making its way through the festival circuit and while it hasn’t been getting good reviews, I really don’t think it looks that bad.

The highly stylized martial arts film may be a bit too out there for some but despite the poor reviews, I’m kind of interested in Bunraku. The choreography and visuals instantly caught my eye and if nothing else, it could be an enjoyable yet mindless action pic. It does remind me of The Warrior’s Way (which I didn’t enjoy too much) but in some ways, it looks like a step up from that film.

I’m going to remain cautiously optimistic for this one and hopefully come the Fall, I’ll be pleasantly surprised. I’m by no means expecting a great film, but rather a fun one.

Check out the trailer below and let us know what you think.

Bunraku hits theatres on Sept 30th.

In a world with no guns, a mysterious drifter (Hartnett), a young samurai and a bartender (Harrelson) plot revenge against a ruthless leader (Perlman) and his army of thugs of nine diverse and deadly assassins.
