New Trailer And Poster For Takashi Miike’s 13 Assassins

Today we get a new trailer and poster for Takashi Miike’s 13 Assassins, which is hitting theatres on April 29th. Miike is an interesting filmmaker and anytime he releases something new it’s usually a big deal. Despite our poor review on 13 Assassins, most of the buzz surrounding the film is very positive.

I generally enjoy Miike’s films so I’m remaining optimistic about 13 Assassins. From watching the trailer it’s clear that Miike was inspired by Akira Kurosawa’s Seven Samurai, which could be a good or bad thing depending on how you look at it. Anyways, decide for yourself. Check out the plot summary, trailer and poster below.

Cult director Takeshi Miike (Ichi the Killer, Audition) delivers a bravado period action film set at the end of Japan’s feudal era in which a group of unemployed samurai are enlisted to bring down a sadistic lord and prevent him from ascending to the throne and plunging the country into a war torn future.
