With less than two months left to go, anticipation continues to build for Peter Jackson's epic adaptation of J.R.R. Tolkien's The Hobbit. We've seen lots and lots of marketing material for the film thus far in the form of trailers, images, and banners, but today, thanks to First Showing, we now have the first TV spot for the film.

With less than two months left to go, anticipation continues to build for Peter Jackson’s epic adaptation of J.R.R. Tolkien’s The Hobbit. We’ve seen lots and lots of marketing material for the film thus far in the form of trailers, images, and banners, but today, thanks to First Showing, we now have the first TV spot for the film.

Running just over 30 seconds, it features plenty of action and little snippets of new footage. It may not be much, but it does continue to whet the appetite of those dying to see the film, while reminding others that it is getting closer and closer.

Speaking of reminders, it also lets you know that advanced tickets for the highly-anticipated film will be available starting on November 7th.

The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey, which stars Martin Freeman, Sir Ian McKellen, Richard Armitage, and Andy Serkis, finally arrives in theaters on December 14th in 3D and 48 FPS.
