Big Red is beginning to rear those iconic horns over the horizon, and we couldn’t be more excited.

The infamous demon, played on this occasion by David Harbour of Stranger Things, will soon headline Lionsgate’s Hellboy movie, the twice-delayed reboot that pits everyone’s favorite anti-hero against a hellish queen not of this world.

We are, of course, referring to Nimue (Milla Jovovich), who seeks to destroy humanity and bring ruin to planet Earth. Exactly how she plans to do so is another question entirely, but considering today’s fresh pair of Hellboy posters, we’d wager that Jovovich’s blood queen is up against it. The first one is more of a close-up than anything else, and while the proportions are all out of whack, take nothing away from David Harbour’s ungodly scowl. Let’s just say we’d hate to be on the other end of that flaming blade.

Meanwhile, the second is nothing short of biblical, as it places Hellboy underneath a foreboding sky, where a fork of blood-red lightning cascades onto his outstretched sword. Remember when the movie’s first poster was captioned ‘Legendary AF’? We’re beginning to think David Harbour’s titular creature is really Legendary OP. As in Over-frickin’-Powered.

Among the ensemble cast for this one are Ian McShane (John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum) as Hellboy’s adoptive father Professor Broom, Daniel Dae Kim as Major Ben Daimio, Penelope Mitchell as Ganeida and Sasha Lane as Alice Monaghan. There’s also room in the Hellboy ranks for Sophie Okonedo (After Earth), Brian Gleeson and Alistair Petrie (Rogue One: A Star Wars Story).

Lionsgate and director Neil Marshall plan to summon Hellboy into theaters on April 12th – two weeks shy of a little-known Marvel sequel called Avengers: Endgame.
