After Gina Carano made the leap from the ring to Hollywood, appearing in films like Haywire and Fast & Furious 6, she inspired others to follow suit. Today we’re hearing that another UFC fighter is looking to do some acting, as Ronda Rousey is in talks for a role in James Wan’s upcoming film, Fast & Furious 7.
We don’t have any specifics on her role just yet but we do know that it will be “a minor supporting part that will showcase her fighting skills.” No surprises there.
Rousey is currently filming another action film at the moment, The Expendables 3, and once done there will then move on to shoot Universal’s upcoming blockbuster, before returning to the UFC for her fight with Mischa Tate on December 28th.
Personally, I’m not terribly familiar with Rousey but I do find it interesting that yet another female UFC fighter will be making the jump from the ring to film. I actually thought Carano was pretty solid in both of her recent roles and I look forward to seeing what Rousey will bring to the table.
