With the Uncharted movie recently gaining some buzz, due to the announcement that David O. Russell and Mark Wahlberg would once again team up together to direct/star, Russell has been talking about the film to a few publications. Today we get some more news on the story of the film.
The Los Angeles Times recently sat down with David O. Russell to get a brief update on the upcoming Uncharted movie:
“This idea really turns me on that there’s a family that’s a force to be reckoned with in the world of international art and antiquities… [a family] that deals with heads of state and heads of museums and metes out justice. We’ll have the family dynamic, which we’ve done in a couple of movies now… And then you take that and put it on the bigger, more muscular stage of an international action picture, but also put all the character stuff in it. That’s a really cool idea to me.”
With Mark Wahlberg already being cast, as well as Joe Pesci and Robert De Niro being in talks to play Drake’s uncle and father, the film has me interested. Unfortunately though, this movie is slowly starting to sway from the games. Which could be a good or very bad thing I guess, depending on how you look at it. I suppose only time will tell though. For now, we’ll be sure to keep you updated on any further news surrounding the film.
