An Unmasked Wade Wilson Features In Latest Batch Of Deadpool 2 Set Pics

Just Jared has uncovered another batch of Deadpool 2 set photos and this time, the Merc With Mouth is unmasked...and drenched.

As one of the more buzz-worthy projects currently in active production – in the superhero space, at least – Deadpool 2 was always going to attract a ton of media attention once filming commenced on the Vancouver set of David Leitch’s 2018 sequel.

And sure enough, ever since the Merc With a Mouth was spotted lounging outside the famous X-Mansion, fans have been bombarded with one set photo after another, after the latest batch found Ryan Reynolds’ irreverent anti-hero wielding a gun at an offscreen enemy. Cable, perhaps?

Josh Brolin, the actor on board to star as Nathan Summers, is still undergoing his transformation process to become Cable, so it’s unlikely he’s shot any scenes involving his hulking mercenary. We’re more inclined to believe that the Merc was chasing down some hapless goon, possibly with Julian Dennison’s mystery character by his side.

It’s impossible to know for sure, but if you’re eager to indulge in another round of speculation about all things Deadpool 2, Just Jared has you covered. In this latest helping of set photos – in the gallery up above – we see an unmasked Wade Wilson having a run-in with some unseen adversary, who appears to run over Reynolds’ title lead from the safety of his/her car. There’s also a particularly striking image of Wade’s silhouette standing tall amid torrential rain. It’s a cool shot at this early stage, so we can only imagine how much better it’ll look once David Leitch’s comic book sequel is prepped and ready for the big screen in 2018.

Deadpool 2 has been set for release on June 1st, next year, and currently finds itself sandwiched between Josh Boone’s New Mutants (April 13th) and X-Men: Dark Phoenix (November 2nd, 2018). Fox’s comic book movie plans span far beyond 2018, though, now that the studio has staked out a total of six release dates between now and 2021. Perhaps one of those has been reserved for the rumored Fantastic Four revival? Time will tell.
