Rambo V: Last Blood Earns A Hard R-Rating

This probably won't come as much of a shock, but Rambo V: Last Blood has been handed down an R-rating, as confirmed by Sylvester Stallone.

While he might be a little older than most Hollywood action heroes, Sylvester Stallone – who turned 73 a few weeks ago – is still a force to be reckoned with, both on and off the studio backlot. Despite his age, the star of Rocky has kept himself in terrific shape over the past few decades, and action movie fans will have a chance to see the Italian Stallion on the big screen again once Rambo V: Last Blood hits theaters.

Interestingly, despite his age, Stallone remains quite active on social media. Specifically, he uses his Instagram page to both share snippets of his personal life and promote his upcoming films and projects. He seems to be quite good at it, too, as he has over 10 million followers, after all.

Recently, he posted some interesting news regarding Rambo V: Last Blood. As you can see down below, the veteran actor shared a few new images from his upcoming film, while also revealing that it had been handed down an R-rating, presumably by the Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA).

Stallone didn’t mention why Rambo V: Last Blood received an R-rating, but it’s quite likely that it has to do with the film’s depiction of violence. Plot details are pretty scarce at this point – all that’s known is the movie follows John as he heads south of the border in order to rescue a friend’s daughter, who’s been kidnapped by the Mexican cartel. Needless to say, it looks like he won’t be showing his enemies any mercy, as evidenced by a behind the scenes clip that Stallone shared with his Instagram followers earlier this year.

We’ve only seen a few glimpses of it, but so far, Rambo V: Last Blood is shaping up to be something special, and most of us here at We Got This Covered can’t wait to see Sylvester Stallone back in action. Thankfully, with a release set for September 20th, it looks like we won’t have to wait too long for that.
