When you’re the fastest man alive, you’re already a bit of a superhero. Nevertheless, Olympian Usain Bolt wants to go toe-to-toe with Barry Allen himself in his upcoming solo movie The Flash, which will see Ezra Miller in the superspeed suit after this year’s Justice League.
Bolt expressed his interest in appearing in Warner Bros.’ upcoming superhero blockbuster while promoting his new sports movie I Am Bolt with MTV, saying “that’d be pretty cool. That’d be really cool,” when asked if he’d like to be involved.
Of course, it’s not impossible to imagine WB being interested in putting Bolt in the film, if even for a quick two-second cameo or even a Stan Lee-esque one scene appearance. It’s all speculative for now though, and it’s not as if Bolt is campaigning as much as he’s expressing that, yeah, it would be “pretty cool” to be involved. Hell, it would be cool if I was involved too, but I don’t see myself getting a call any time soon. Bolt might have better luck, though.
Considering how dour and serious-minded these DC adaptations have been of late, it wouldn’t kill the studio to include a little winking nod like this one in The Flash. But they still have a lot to think about before they start picking cameo appearances. For instance, there’s still no director attached to the project, and that might be a bigger concern before its March 16th, 2018 release.
Tell us, do you want to see Bolt make an appearance in WB’s The Flash, or would you rather the athlete stay on the racing track? However you feel, let us know in the comments section.
