Warner’s SDCC 2018 Showcase Said To Include Aquaman Trailer And A Peek At Cheetah From Wonder Woman 2

Hall H has witnessed some truly incredible moments throughout the years, and if there’s any truth to today’s big DC rumor, 2018 will be no different.

Over on Twitter, industry tipster ‘@DanielRPK’ (h/t ComicBook.com) has stoked the embers of excitement by claiming that Warner Bros.’ showcase at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con will be a big one filled with Aquaman‘s first trailer, a sneak peek at Cheetah (Kristen Wiig) from the Wonder Woman sequel, and the moment when Matt Reeves and Ben Affleck walk out onto stage together to publically express their solidarity on The Batman.

Sounds too good to be true? We’re inclined to believe it is, though if there’s one thing we can tell you with absolute certainty, it’s that SDCC 2018 is shaping up to be a defining moment for Warner’s superhero franchise. Because after the middling Justice League, the DCEU is arguably in need of a fresh start – or at the very least, some fresh blood.

Of course, if you’ve been keeping tabs on the Warner Bros. juggernaut, you’ll know that Walter Hamada was recently appointed at the head of DC Films, when the not-insurmountable task of course-correcting the DCEU became the first port of call.

Only time will tell if Hamada has achieved his goal, but if the DC Rumor of the Day (trademark pending) holds any water, then next month’s showcase will be one to remember, even if it doesn’t include the standalone Cyborg movie as initially expected.

Next up for the DC Extended Universe is the launch of Aquaman this festive season, and with James Wan behind the wheel, we’re quietly confident that Arthur Curry’s solo adventure will be unlike anything we’ve seen before. December 21st is the date for your diaries.
