Warner Bros Sets Release Dates For Pacific Rim And Contagion

Warner Bros. has announced the release dates for two of its most exciting upcoming projects, Guillermo del Toro's Pacific Rim and Steven Soderbergh's Contagion. Soderbergh's upcoming flick has been moved from October 21st to September 9th, steering well clear of the other thriller/horror movie Paranormal Activity 3 (which Contagion would compete against) but which worryingly hasn't started shooting yet. Instead Contagion will now battle against Warrior which stars Tom Hardy and Joel Edgerton.

Warner Bros. has announced the release dates for two of its most exciting upcoming projects, Guillermo del Toro‘s Pacific Rim and Steven Soderbergh‘s Contagion.

First off, Contagion. The film has been moved from October 21st to September 9th, steering well clear of the other thriller/horror movie Paranormal Activity 3 (which Contagion would compete against) but which worryingly hasn’t started shooting yet. Instead Contagion will now battle against Warrior which stars Tom Hardy and Joel Edgerton.

The film to me sounds like it could be the highlight of the year. It is said to be an incredibly tough film with a stellar cast including Matt Damon, Kate Winslet, Jude Law, Marion Cotillard, Bryan Cranston, Gwyneth Paltrow and Laurence Fishburne.

Del Toro’s massive monster movie Pacific Rim also received a release date, earning a summer slot of July 21st, 2013. The film stars Charlie Hunnam, Charlie Day and Idris Elba and is the film that del Toro took up after At the Mountains of Madness fell through.
