Here we have yet another Nicolas Cage movie that seems to have popped up out of nowhere, much like Seeking Justice did earlier this year. I was actually one of the few who thought that that film wasn’t all that bad, so I’m willing to give this next project of his a shot.

Today, thanks to First Showing, we have the first trailer for Stolen, which stars the Academy Award winner doing what he does best: running around looking crazy and panicked while delivering classic lines like “I’m running out of time!”

Check out the synopsis for the film below:

A former thief is released from prison after a bank robbery gone awry. He decides to visit his daughter, but when an old partner finds out, he kidnaps her and locks her in the trunk of his cab, demanding a ransom: the $10 million he believes Will still has. He doesn’t, and must rob another bank. Mayhem ensues.

Stolen comes to us from director Simon West, who recently directed The Expendables 2, with a screenplay by David Guggenheim, who gave us the dreadful Safe House.

Considering the talent on board here, I think it’s safe to say that Stolen will be a silly, yet entertaining, flick like Seeking Justice was.

We’ll find out for sure when it hits theaters on September 14th but as of now, I wouldn’t hold my breath for anything truly special.

Check out the trailer below and let us know what you think in the comments.
