In honor of Bohemian Rhapsody's big win at the Golden Globes the other night, the Royal Guards at Buckingham Palace put on a little show.

Though the film hasn’t exactly been a smash hit with the critics, it has found itself the talk of numerous awards ceremonies already, recently scoring a huge night at the Golden Globes. Taking home the prize for Best Motion Picture – Drama and Best Performance by an Actor in a Motion Picture – Drama, Bohemian Rhapsody is now in a pretty good position as we approach the Oscars and to honor its win over the weekend, the guards at Buckingham Palace put on a little show the other day.

Pretty cool, right? It’s a neat tribute to the movie and its staggering success. With a box office total that currently stands at a mighty $743.9 millionBohemian Rhapsody is easily one of 2018’s undisputed sleeper hits alongside Venom. That’s not to say that it arrived with zero expectations. Far from it, in fact. It’s just that few could have predicted a global tally close to $750 million – that’s a territory usually reserved for massive blockbusters like Deadpool 2 ($735M), Ant-Man and the Wasp ($622M) and Mission: Impossible – Fallout ($791M), to name just a few comparable 2018 films.

Hell, Brian May has even teased that Bohemian Rhapsody‘s eye-watering success could warrant a sequel, one which could possibly explore the twilight years of Freddie Mercury. Whether that’ll materialize or not remains to be seen, but if one thing’s for certain, it’s that Fox has a smash hit on their hands and it’ll be fascinating to see how the film continues to perform as we head further into awards season.
