MCU Leaker May’ve Teased The Release Date For Avengers 5

Once the credits rolled on Avengers: Endgame, moviegoers from all around were left wondering exactly how things would look moving forward. While it didn’t reset the Marvel Cinematic Universe by any means, the Russo Brothers’ magnum opus saw the deaths of Iron Man and Black Widow, as well Captain America and Hawkeye hanging up their shield and bow, respectively. Professor Hulk, meanwhile, seems fairly injured from harnessing the power of the Infinity Stones, and while Thor is still alive and well, it looks like he’s planning to head off into space with the Guardians of the Galaxy.

Still, ever since Endgame hit theaters, fans have speculated that a fifth film would release at some point, and late last month, Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige confirmed Avengers 5 (that’s what we’re tentatively calling it) is on the docket. Of course, we’re not entirely sure when this particular project will see the light of day. It’s definitely not a part of the MCU’s fourth phase though, so for now, the earliest it could make its premiere would be in 2022 or beyond.

However, as MovieWeb reports, well-known MCU expert Charles Murphy (who accurately leaked Marvel’s Phase 4 lineup before it was officially unveiled at Comic-Con) may have just given us a hint on his Twitter account. While he does warn that the dates he provided are subject to change, he wrote that Black Panther 2 and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 will release on February 18th and May 6th, 2022, respectively. What’s more intriguing is his last entry, though.

Charles tweeted a date of May 3rd or 10th, 2024, but didn’t reveal what movie will be coming then, opting instead to just put an open-mouth emoji in place of a film. As a result, some are speculating this is when the next Avengers will release.

As always, this leaked info should be taken with a grain of salt, especially since these rumored dates are years in the future. After all, we’re not even entirely sure who will be a part of the next Avengers team, but we’re hoping that Shang-Chi and Blade join up. In any case, we imagine we’ll learn more about Phase 5 at D23 later this month and hopefully, the May 2024 date is indeed for a new film featuring Earth’s Mightiest Heroes.
