Fans of Scorsese, rejoice!
In just a few months the popular and prestigious director will return to the big screen with another promising launch. On Oct. 6, his new film, Killers of the Flower Moon is set to hit the theaters in certain parts of the world but this theatrical release will see a global expansion on Oct. 20.
It’s confirmed that the new film will see the star-studded duo — Leonardo DiCaprio and Robert De Niro — who have been Scorsese’s regulars for a decade. DiCaprio and De Niro are set to play Ernest Burkhart and William Hale, respectively, Burkhart being the nephew of Hale.
Like some of his previous hits, namely The Departed, The Irishman, and Goodfellas, the upcoming movie is a crime drama. Based on David Grann’s book, Killers of the Flower Moon: The Osage Murders and the Birth of the FBI, the plot of the movie will revolve around the murder of the oil-rich Osage tribe members. If you haven’t read the #1 New York Times bestseller, Apple TV Plus has released a synopsis,
“Killers of the Flower Moon is set in 1920s Oklahoma and depicts the serial murder of members of the oil-wealthy Osage Nation, a string of brutal crimes that came to be known as the Reign of Terror.”
What sort of runtime can we expect from Killers of the Flower Moon?
Besides all the known information and the approaching release date, fans have also shown interest in the movie’s runtime. Well, it turns out the Wolf of the Wall Street director will follow a similar pattern on that front as with The Irishman and Silence, which saw a total runtime of three and half hours and a little less than three hours, respectively, Killers of the Flower Moon is also set to be over 3 hours long, 3 hours and 20 minutes to be exact.
With a stellar cast and an engaging plot, it won’t be surprising if fans display a similar enthusiasm for this upcoming project as with his previous films.
Killers of the Flower Moon will hit theaters on Oct. 6, 2023.
