Who played Elektra in Netflix’s ‘Daredevil’ and is she returning in ‘Deadpool 3?’

After all, the film is steadily becoming MCU's 'The Flash.'

Deadpool 3 is primed to be both Marvel’s The Flash as well as everything Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness wasn’t. And the latest name to join this confusion is the character Elektra.

The confusion about the introduction of the famed assassin (who is Daredevil’s love interest in the comics and leads quite a conflicted life story) arose from the confirmation that Deadpool 3, in its bid to drown itself in MCU’s multiversal arc, is bringing back Jennifer Garner’s Elektra. Yep, the very version of the character whose solo film in 2005 remains one of Marvel’s worst-reviewed projects.

So, Ryan Reynolds’ proper MCU initiation has been attracting rumors that it is set to see many Deadpool and Wolverine variants. Does that hold true for its other characters as well, especially Elektra?

Is Élodie Yung, Elektra in Netflix’s Daredevil, also in Deadpool 3?

So far, the upcoming series, Daredevil: Born Again has soothed harried souls by confirmation of returning characters from the Netflix show and broken hearts by recasting a few. But so far, it has neither been confirmed nor denied whether actress Élodie Yung, who played the epic assassin across all seasons of Netflix’s Daredevil, will be appearing next to Charlie Cox.

The ambiguous nature of her current status in the MCU was further blurred by Yung when she posted a picture of Elektra from the series and asked one heartbreakingly rhetorical question.

Jennifer Garner’s unexpected return as Elektra has only flamed the fire further. As we said, if rumors are to be believed, Deadpool 3 is set to feature alternate versions of its characters. So, what is stopping them from bringing Élodie Yung as Elektra as well to complete the set?

What further supports the prospect is another rumor that is yet to be confirmed — that Ben Affleck is also in the cast of the film

Does Deadpool 3 have Daredevil? Are both Charlie Cox and Ben Affleck in Deadpool 3?

Officially? No. But it has been reported that Affleck was seen on the sets of the film. While the rumor ends here, it was a simple jump to speculate that he will be seen as his version of Matt Murdock, who he played back in 2003’s Daredevil. With Garner set to reprise her role as Elektra, which she first played opposite Affleck in the 20th Century Studios’ film, the actor’s return as the Devil of Hell’s Kitchen has never made more sense.

The possibility of Affleck making his official MCU debut — when the cinematic universe already has Cox (who is also expected to appear in Deadpool 3) as its original Daredevil — also creates space for multiple versions of Elektra to appear on the screen as well.

In case Yung does mark her appearance in the upcoming film as Elektra, it won’t mean squat for her MCU future, just like John Krasinski in Doctor Strange 2 didn’t make him the new and permanent Reed Richards. But until more official confirmations are made, only the release of Deadpool 3 on May 3, 2024, can quell the speculations that are bound to get crazier as the date comes closer.
