QuickSilver in Age of Ultron

Why Marvel Should Bring Quicksilver Back For Avengers 4

Recently, some buzz has accumulated online about the possible return of Quicksilver in Avengers 4. As we know, the movie is set to celebrate the first ten years of the MCU, so it would be nice if the forgotten hero was brought back after being unceremoniously killed off in 2015's Age of Ultron.

Recently, some buzz has accumulated online about the possible return of Quicksilver in Avengers 4. As we know, the movie is set to celebrate the first ten years of the MCU, so it would be nice if the forgotten hero was brought back after being unceremoniously killed off in 2015’s Age of Ultron.

The reason why this has even become a thing in the first place is because it’s been reported that Aaron Taylor-Johnson was spotted on the set of the movie. However, without any photographic evidence to go on, we shouldn’t get our hopes up just yet. That said, fan theorists have already come up with some compelling points as to how Quickie could fit into the narrative.

And let’s hope this rumor is true, as Quicksilver really does deserve another crack at the whip. Sure, we have Evan Peters’ version over in Fox’s X-Men universe but, truth be told, the character has a much longer history as part of the Avengers than he does with the X-Men, despite his family background. Given that, it makes sense for him to be resurrected and serve as a member of the team going forward into Phase Four of the MCU.

One thing that Marvel Studios’ Quicksilver’s got over the X-Men iteration is that he has his sister, Scarlet Witch, with him. Their familial relationship has been a backbone for the pair’s development over decades in the comics and it’d be nice to have this explored further on screen. Within the MCU itself, it would also be interesting to have the now more experienced Wanda train and guide her hot headed, impulsive brother Pietro.

Back in the day, Ultron director Joss Whedon even toyed with the idea of resurrecting Quicksilver right away. What’s more, Taylor-Johnson had an option in his contract to come back for additional movies. So, clearly the idea of his return has been mulled over behind the scenes at Marvel Studios. But is it going to happen in Avengers 4? We wouldn’t be surprised, but for now, all we can do is speculate.
